Today I delivered the box and my teacher was really happy about the box.

All done

Today I welded all the metal together to make the garden box.  First I tacked the frame together.  Once the frame was tacked together I did full welds on the places were I tacked it together.  Then I took the stretch metal and welded it into the frame.  When I was working on the lid I ran out of stretched metal so I took a metal strap and welded two pieces of the stretched metal together.  After all the stretched metal was welded on I took the hinges and welded them onto the frame and lid.  Once that was done all I had to make a latch for the lock by cutting metal and welding it together. I welded the latch onto the box and then drilled a hole for the lock to hook onto.  Once the lid was done I took the metal sander and sanded down the whole box so that there were no rough edges or sharp pieces of metal so that no one get cuts on the box.  The box is done now!!!!

Cut

Today I cut all the metal that was necessary to make the box.  I used the grinder to cut the metal.  I got all the metal at the recycle yard.  All together today it has taken me less than an hour to cut all the metal.  I was even able to cut the stretched metal.  Next time I have to work on the box there will be a lot of welding so it gets put together.

Brought the box

Today I brought my box to school and I think Mr. Bursch liked it.

Finished the box

Today I hand cut all the wood because my dad was gone and I'm not allowed to use power tools with out him.  Then once he got home we took his drill and drilled the holes for the wood to be held in place.  Then we took nuts and bolts and put them in.  Once all the wood was in we made the lid and lock and then we welded it on.

Made the frame of the box

Today my dad taught me how to weld so we took all the meatal and lined it up and put a little tack weld just to get the frame and then I put the final welds on it.  Then I took the grinder with a different wheel and grinded down the welds.  Once I had the frame made I cut the corrugated metal and welded that in.

Cut all the metal

Today I took all the metal I had and took the grinder and cut all of the metal that is necessary to build the garden box that I am making.  The only thing I don't have is the corrugated metal and we have to get that from the recycle place.
